I have nothing but praise for the Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 7in I gave my wife for Christmas. Good features, works smoothly, nice build and only $179. And it does not need the tablet world's most useless interface, iTunes.

    Sold to retailers?
    Sold to wholesalers?
Or are these just order book quantities?
Or actual sales to end users?

I doubt I will ever get an answer...

From what we can tell from what little is actually given, the supply chain shipped out 1 Million Units. Now, whether all of those were actually "sold" to retail customers is another matter entirely. Also, no specific details were given as to where these units went, so most of them could have gone to Asian markets for all we know. I know this doesn't give you much more, but it's all we've got!

I'm pretty sure the Padfone 2 has only been released in Asia and maybe Europe. A quick search shows release date of Dec 1 2012 in Germany and "early 2013" for UK. That's probably why we haven't seen any... It also doesn't have the right 3G bands for North America.

Probably because the device is designed as a Smartphone - with a tablet screen dock that gives you two devices in one. A keyboard dock would, IMO, make the device quite "frankenstinian" to create a word.

Bluetooth keyboards are inexpensive if you simply must have a physical keyboard.
