ASUS Working on 4.2 Updates for its Tablets
We’re not too surprised by today’s news, but we’re going to put it out there anyway: ASUS looks to be working on getting Android 4.2 out to its Transformer tablets. The news came via a call to customer service where one customer inquired about the upgrade for their Transformer Prime. The rep didn’t specifically confirm that the Prime — or any particular device — would get it, but the response didn’t seem to implicate any one device.
It’s important not to assume that all ASUS Transformer tablets will be in line for Jelly Bean 4.2. Some of the company’s tablets still haven’t gotten Android 4.1. Another thing to remember is that going by the word of a customer service representative is risky business. Often times than not, these reps either have wrong information, they misunderstand the question or they just flat-out know nothing.
In this case it’s pretty safe to assume that ASUS is working on Android 4.2 updates for at least some of its devices, though, so we’ll take their word for it and keep our fingers crossed that a majority of its tablets will get it. ASUS will likely announce their upgrade plans on Facebook whenever they’re ready so be sure to “like” them and keep an eye on it over the coming weeks.

I haz da sad. My ice cream sammiche's all melted and I got a hankering for some Jelly Beans, but my TF101 probably won't get none.

Still waiting ASUS' move on Jeally beans and TF101 before buying something from them.
They do a good job on various places, they are the best imo, but it's for my morale, i cannot buy anything else from them till they didn't shown they can support the lil' TF101.
Out of topic, but i'd love to see an Android version of the ASUS TAICHI (the dual screen laptot)

Perhaps ASUS skipped 4.1 for TF101 and are working on 4.2 for it, I think I would do that if I was asus/samsung or whoever, then the devices get newer operating systems as dont have to re optimize the OS each time

This news was flimsy at best, as Wicked suggested. I still doubt that the tf101 will even get 4.1 & I doubt it will get anything (if at all) before Asus update the tf700. If they don't keep their flagship device up to speed to compete with the Nexus 10, I'll be very surprised.

Asus is rumored to be building 4.2 firmware builds for some tablets.
No official word when it will be ready, or which devices it will be for.
I would not want 4.2 yet: http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/11...ewest-release/

Yeah, I don't think the TF101 will be getting any further Android updates. Interesting article on 4.2 as well!

Just an FYI the Xoom isn't getting 4.2 and it has the same hardware as the TF101 and their Google's reason was the hardware so there you go. No more updates for the TF101 and I wouldn't feel too bad about it either that thing is getting old.
