Asus TF500T Device Passes Through FCC with WiFi and Tablet Shape
Could Asus be stealthily getting ready to pop a new tablet device on the market? This latest FCC filing suggests that as a distinct possibility. There aren't too many details with the filing but we see that the device has WiFi, HDMI and a microphone. Could this be a mid-range device of some kind, or maybe a phablet? We have no idea at this point, but we are intrigued and will keep you informed as new details emerge.

Nexus 10" perhaps?
Not sure why they'd need another model, perhaps a phone?

Downloads failed for me on the FCC site. 10 pdf documents for MSQTF500T.

I think this may possibly be the tablet part of the PadFone 2, which is going be announced in about a weeks time

Amazon selling docks for it
This tablet is going to be almost identical to the Infinity TF700 according to Amazon.
Keyboard dock
It seems this is yet another android tablet from Asus, only speculating.

I'm hoping it is an Android tablet with higher resolution and better processor. When the tf700 initially went to a higher rez the cpu/gpu seemed to really take a hit from the games that weren't optimized for those resolutions. I'm assuming the newer tegra 4 chipset could help in this aspect with the extra gpu cores. Additionally, as the newer devices are sporting the 2560x1600 rez that would indicate an even greater need for better gpu.
My problem is that I'm stuck in a gray area. I can't get a nexus, as I absolutely HATE the idea of not having both the dock (for the extra batt life and occasional kb use) and the microsd slot. It seems that per google, the microsd or any external storage is just too confusing for joe average user. If that's the case, they really are designing for the lowest possible denominator (intelligence) in our society and I believe it's a shame. I use a 64gb microsd card and keep it quite full. I would find it not only inconvenient and time consuming to try and transfer that data from device to device when I upgrade, but there are very few tablets which have 64gb of internal storage. Besides, I'd still have to leave room for apps and data which would eat into that storage as well.
So, I'm here to cheer Asus on in their future tablet endeavors! Here's to a quad core 2ghz cpu, 4gb mem, 72 core gpu, 64gb internal storage, 2560x1600 tablet with microsd and dock support. I don't want much.

Just out of interest, ranger67, as it seems that you need quite a bit of power & storage on your device, have you checked out the new Windows based devices - like the Vivo, Book or Surface?
