Google Voice Search 'Faster' than Siri in Video Comparison

Of course you knew that someone would post a video comparing Apple's Siri to Google's Voice Search from Jelly Bean right? Here it is above. I am sure this will simply be the first of many, yet is still entertaining (if not scientific) nonetheless. Apparently, Google's Voice Search is just a little bit faster than Siri. Also, (and this is subjective), it seems that Google's version seems more natural in tone than Siri.

    What do you guys think?

I think that Siri, outside US, is a brick, and we don't know if it'll be the same for google's solution.

At least they did say that some of the speech recognition stuff is going to be available offline. I know that this won't be, but hopefully that is a good sign that they are listening to what people want.

Isn't ICS' voice commands supposed to be decent already? I was trying to use them to send an e-mail tonight, and they definitely didn't work very well. Not as compared to Siri.

I think you need a full-time internet connection for either one to work (either Google's or Apple's)

With just a WiFi, the tablets cannot competed with a smartphone, who also has access to cellular data--- unless you happen to be on a University campus, that is fully 'wired' (or perhaps an office that actually lets it's employees piggyback on the company's routers... more and more rare these days).

Some cities in the US apparently are pushing to get cheap or free WiFi all over their downtown areas. But not where I live, where less than 1/2 the population even has high speed interwebs at all... this is Oklahomer after all... <snerk>

... where "innertubes" is what we use to keep the beer-keg from sinking into the lake... <heh>

On the subject of Siri - have you seen that episode of The Big Bang Theory where Raj starts "a relationship" with Siri...

Here in Arizona we use the internet to track the growing amounts of desert due to wildfires... and get information on the border wars..

Yes I did-- that one was too funny ....

.... and also kind sad-- as I used to know people who would've done exactly as Raj did, had they the chance.

Did they really use Siri in the episode or was that dubbed over?
