Asus Transformer Prime Bests iPad2 in Head-to-Head Matchup

Here's an interesting read. Some folks at Phonearena decided to pit the Transformer Prime directly against Apple's iPad2. According to their detailed, four-page analysis, the Transformer Prime is a better product, by a noticeable margin.
According to their take on things, the Design aesthetics of the two were pretty much a tie. The display on the T-Prime was better. The interface and functionality were slightly better on the T-Prime. Surprisingly, they seemed to indicate that the Processor and Memory performance of both devices was about on par, despite the T-Prime's quad-core chip. It appeared they gave a slight edge to the iPad2 for connectivity, since it has 3G capability and the T-Prime does not; however, they were, of course, happy that the Prime supports Adobe Flash, while the iPad2 does not. The camera on the Transformer Price was noticeably superior, according to their perspective, and they gave the edge to the T-Prime for multimedia playback. The iPad2 won with battery performance, but their final conclusion obviously favored the Transformer Prime.
Of course, I doubt any of you guys will dispute or even find their results surprising.
They had quite a few pics and videos, so give them a look at the source link below.

Great video on that site. And I totally agree.

Only thing slightly jarring is to mention the storage capacity of both without saying that that with only one of them can you expand that memory using SD cards.
-
dont forget why the prime is called transformer, with the dock it adds more storage, usb, keyboard and the most important (for me) more battery life!

I don't understand why is the Prime being compared to an iPad2? Shouldn't it be going against the iPad3 (I know its not out yet, I but since the Prime is the first to launch with a quad processor, I don't see where the fair comparison is with comparing it to a iPad2 that has dual core the original TF is the one to compare it too, if anything it shouldn't even be brought into the equation)
I would think the original transformer is the one to test, but if people are pitting the Prime against an iPad2 makes me think the iPad3 will run circles against the Prime.

Totally agree, as much as I recommend people to look at android tablets before jumping on the iPad wagon this article just seems to want to get something to beat the iPad2, again unfair comparison considering how new the TF201 is in comparison to the iPad2.

Both are the latest offerings from the respective manufacturers, and are both are on sale. It's entirely legitimate to compare them because people looking to buy now will decide what they want on the basis of what's available right now.
You will always get leapfrogging as new products are released, if you don't compare current items then you won't bother comparing at all. By the time the iPad 3 is out, the next iteration of the Transformer will be in the works.

Not really, your comparing to entirely different spec'd tablets. Of course the TF would win, hence the pointless comparison.
It's like comparing a high spec PC today to one that was built last year, different technology, pointless comparison.
I'm not defending the iPad at all, but this article just seems to be about the fact it has beaten the iPad2.
If people were that fussed, they would wait for the iPad3 when considering a tablet purchase.
Unfortunately the iPad is usually peoples first choice due to advertisement etc, but that's another discussion.
The fact of the matter is Apple tend to release a new product every 12 months - excluding minor upgrades - where as other manufactures release MANY DIFFERENT products to reach different consumers.

It's not pointless at all when the choices available right now include the iPad 2 and the Prime. When the iPad 3 comes along, they'll do the same thing, but as of this moment the only thing the Prime can be compared to is the latest iPad.
I don't recall Apple coming out and saying it's not a fair comparison because you need to wait for the iPad 3, they want to sell iPad 2s right now instead.
You always compare what is currently available. Or are you going to say that when it does come out it's not a fair comparison because there's a new version of the Transformer out in the summer too?

Of course people would compare, they want to see competition etc.
The whole point is the fact there is almost a whole year gap between the two, comparing old tat with new.
It's also the comments on that article that are funny, people saying the obvious, as if some are surprised the TF2 was better... the iPad2 is OLD, but because it's an Apple product, it holds its value.
The problem is that the majority of people think the iPad2 is still the latest & greatest.
