Cool Windows Recovery - ASUS drivers?

    Hi:
First post in this forum! Pardon my ignorance.
Can anyone please comment if *standard* windows recovery drive creation process also backs up needed ASUS T102HA drivers to the USB key? I tried once re-installing windows from scratch using media creation tool and could not make it work.
Thanks in advance for the response...

    Welcome to the forum

As I understand it, you will need to download the necessary drivers etc from the Asus website in the relevant section for your device and then install them following a rebuild.

    Hello,

What we recommend that you download the drivers from our support site once you have done an installation of the operating system.

    Hi ASUS Support:
    Thank you for the response.
My question is can you use a standard recovery to complete installation on this system?
I know that trying to install Windows 10 using Microsoft's Media Creation Tool does not work. The touchscreen is not responsive and the attached keyboard does not work.
    Thanks...

If you are doing a image backup everything that is on the drive prior will be there after.
I would not use MS backup but use a 3rd party product.
Macrium Reflect has a free version for home use.

Should I chose task "Create a Bootable Rescue Media" from Macrium's task list to dump a system image on my USB key? Do I explicitly need to add any T102HA's Asus drivers to Macrium's "Rescue Media Drivers" dialog page?

Sorry I have not used that option as I said if you do an image backup whatever is on the drive at the time of imaging will be restored to the new drive or if just doing a clean install, this includes drivers.

The recue media is used to boot he device in case of a complete loss of the drive either hardware or software wise. You would boot from the rescue media and then find the backed up image and write it to the new or damaged software drive.

Thank you. I created a rescue media on an external USB-HDD and saved a backup of all T102HA partitions on it. Hopefully that will save me if and when my T102HA tanks.
