Question Best Micro SD card for Transformer Mini (T102HA)

    Hi Everyone,

I searched through this forum and although I was able to find some older information on the maximum sizes, I would like more information on the supported MicroSD technologies/speeds.

I am looking to add at least 128GB of storage to my Transformer Book Mini and I'm trying to find out which type of MicroSD card to buy.

My main question is: Can the Mini use UHS-I, UHS-II, UHS-III? I know with some types, there is a separate row of pins and I don't know what this device supports. I want to buy the fastest card, but I don't want to spend on technology that won't be used.

What are you using in your Mini's?

    Thanks in advance.

    ASUS Transformer Mini (T102HA)

    I'll make the question easier.

What MicroSD card are you using in your T102HA and does it work well?

I originally used a Sandisk 64gb class 10 SDXC card from a 2014 phone, but soon got a Samsung EVO Select 128gb U1 card on sale to augment the 64gb internal storage.

Occasionally (maybe once every week or two) when booting it up or after it goes to sleep and wakes, the tablet won't see the microSD card, needing me to pop it out (more than halfway out clears the internal contacts) then pop it back in for Windows to see it. This has happened to both cards, so I think it's a problem with the tablet and not the card.

I have used a microSD? Card EXCERIA? - TOSHIBA Memory 64gb since I first got my T102HA and have had no issues.

Check write speeds before you buy

BTW, note that my microSD card Samsung EVO Select 128gb (MB-ME128DA/AM) (U1 labelled, bought January 2017 for $33 bucks on sale from $40) is rated at 80MB/sec read, 20MB/sec write.

The 2017 version (MBME128GA/AM) (labelled U3 and going for $45 on Amazon right now) is rated at up to 100MB/sec read, 90MB/sec write. Check the WRITE speed if you plan on copying a bunch of files to a card and when comparing prices.
