New owner of Trio with a problem.

Hi, I have a trio and it seems to have a problem. On day one the trio worked as advertised but on the second day it was not possible to use windows 8 on the built in pad / screen when pressing the switch button. Windows was running ( I got a lead and used an external monitor) but the screen stayed blank.
I spent much of the day trying to remedy ( no support open on weekends ) and finally came across one other forum in Singapore where the poster mentioned the same problem. The resolution seems to be to turn off Android and Windows and then connect and restart. This wasn't needed on my 1st day so it seems to be a glitch. I will continue to see if this occurs but it's worth a heads up as I was in a minor panic yesterday and may still refund . Lets just see what Asus have to say on Monday and see what today brings.

What a horrible day 2 experience. I hope ASUS can help you out. If they can't, I would definitely return it!

Hi, I had the same problem, but I think you should update your drivers with new ones available on the ASUS support website. Especially look at trio switcher driver which could help you. After having updated with the newest drivers, I don't have any problem with the TRIO!!

Unfortunately that's exactly what I did.
Can I remove upgrade or do you think I will have to continue with my work around .

I am not a specialist, but I guess there is a recovery partition inside the hard disk. You just should try to use this recovery tool in order to come back to windows 8. Otherwise, you should wait until the release of W8.1. drivers of the TRIO which will probably occur in one month I think (before Christmas).

As long as you turn off the android and windows not just allow to sleep it should restart every time. Ensure that the power button is programmed to turn off windows on a long press not just sleep just in case you have no screen.
