Downgrade to Windows 7. Guide, experience, bugs...

    Hi all,

As the title suggest, did any of you downgrade to Windows 7? I really cannot stand, and I would like to know about people who did it :

    - How did you do it?
    - How was your experience?
    - Any bugs / features that aren't working anymore?

    Anything else I should know?

    Thanks!

    Simo

    Welcome to the forum Simo

I don't remember seeing anyone downgrade to Windows 7. I suspect it will be a problem on a number of fronts. My guess is that you would lose some functionality because of driver issues for starters. I also feel it would run slower even if you could make it work.

There are ways to make Windows 8 look and act more like Windows 7 if you could specify the items that are your biggest concerns.

I am confident that the old issue of switching to/from Android when Windows was hibernating would return as there are no properly update VGA drivers for Win7. That issue alone would be enough to prevent me from even considering it.

Hi, I have successfully downgraded my book trio to Windows 7.
    The first issue with installing windows 7 is booting the iso file on a usb 3.0. Solve of this problem is;
    https://downloadcenter.intel.com/dow...reator-Utility

Once you start windows 7 setup everything goes smoothly.
The drivers for trio on the asus website is only for win8.0 and win8.1
I did not download any driver from asus website, I used a driver pack called 'driver pack solution'.

Now my trio runs with windows 7.
The only bug I have noticed is OS switch button does not work on when the screen displays windows.
I have to switch off the screen to work on the Android tablet.
After plugging in the tablet, OS switch button shifts the display to windows.

Update: Function key problem fixed after installing Asus ATK package.
