    Question Display backlight

    Hi,

could you please post your LCD back-light picture (take a photo in dark environment and have dark background on the screen) ?
For me it seems to be pretty lighter in upper right corner (rest of the screen is fine, don't get confused by poor photo quality).

According to the ASUS, it's normal as there is led light positioned....but is it really ?

I have the exact same thing even in the same corner. If it's normal In this lcd don't know. It doesn't disturb cause I can only see it on startup. It's called light bleeding and is common on other led LCDs.

My sager laptop has similar issues with light bleed. Unfortunately, it's just something that is endemic with a lot of smaller companies. The huge companies - HP, Dell, Apple - get the best deals and often, the class A screens. Class B screens are sold to smaller companies who can't compete on volume.

So all those reports of ipad's with light bleed are just your imagination.

If the brightness is jacked up enough or you are in a dark room almost any edgelit device will show some lighter areas near the lit edge. I think it bothers us with older eyes less. I don't appreciably notice it on any devices where the brightness is not over what it should be for the ambient light.
