    brand new t302CHI/CA shut off, won't start or charge

    hey, sorry for not first introducing myself, but i need some help

    i got a T302CHI about 3 weeks back, used it for a bit, but wasn't liking the Windows 10 experience

    i went looking for some ways to improve the interface and found some nice tips

    so i got my T302, opened it up, don't remember if it was already switched on or not

    when the screen popped up, it asked "do you want to exit tablet mode", as i had connected the keyboard
    i tapped yes, let the interface switch and then decided to take the tablet off the keyboard

    screen almost immediately went black

    now it doesn't want to turn on anymore, connecting the charger also doesn't do anything to the charge light
    already tried to hold power over 60 seconds, then couple of seconds again to switch it on, as suggested by asus

    nothing seems to help

    the model number is T302CA-FL042R, updated windows 10 the first day to the latest updates

    i read quite some horror stories about the T100 not switching on, also some on the T200
    things like the sensor that detects the laptop being closed not working properly
    and batteries with loose connection

    sadly the back doesn't seem to come off with this model, have to open it up at the front, where the fragile display is

    i found a picture of the battery replacement for this unit, if that really is what's inside this tablet, i can't imagine it's connector coming loose that easily, see picture
    (that is, if they really used those screw holes to secure it inside the unit, there should be no stress on the connector cable)

    anyone have this model and have similar problems?
    any hints/tips to get this unit back to life?

    i would of course, had i not been so stupid as to import one, because i wanted the highest specced model with core m7 and 8gn of ram
    so sending it back would be a hassle

    i was hoping there was some button combination or something to do the trick

    hurray, seems Asus does global warranty, so i can send it in, in fact, they're having it picked up on monday

    fingers crossed for a speedy, and more importantly, a lasting repair

    they replaced the pad assy, i think this is the screen assembly?
    really weird the whole tablet didn't respond to anything anymore, not even connecting the charger
    updating windows as i type this, hope it will last a lot longer this time
