    [ SOLVED ] Deleted ASUS T300LA-DH51T factory recovery partition - a mistake

I recently bought a ASUS T300LA-DH51T from the US.
After installation I decided to delete the ASUS factory recovery partition to gain more space.
Having worked with it for a while, I have now decided that I did not like it so much after all and have decided to sell it.
But now that I decided to sell it, it is painstakingly clear that deleting the ASUS factory recovery partition was a mistake.
What should I do (any ideas) ?

I would try to find another similar tablet tablet and using Acronis or similar software to transfer partitions back.

OK. So I am desperately looking for someone who will provide me with a copy ot the GENERIC ASUS recovery partition from their ASUS T300LA-DH51T.
Since the ASUS recovery partition is generic (and reads the Windows 8.0 serial key from the bios on each machine) it should not be a problem.
In case you will decide help me, I guess we will have to figure out how to send so many GB ?

    Regards,
    Ole Steen Larsen

I would imagine you can go the the Asus.com website and download the correct firmware for your device which would include the recovery partition information... ?

Since you've created this essentially duplicate thread with the same content as a post in another thread, I've deleted that one to reduce the amount of duplication on the forum. This is covered in the Guidelines of Conduct.

OK. Thanks. Unfortunately you can not download the Asus recovery partition from Asus.com, so I am still looking for a fellow Asus T300LA-DH51T owner who will provide me with this.

As I mentioned, I would try downloading the correct firmware which should include a recovery partition. The recovery partition is part of the firmware package...

I do not understand what you mean by downloading the correct firmware - you can only download drivers and some utilities from Asus.com ?

Rather than "firmware" I should have used the term "Bios" for the Windows software (it also contains firmware)

See the support page - check your current BIOS using the link on that page, enter your OS [WIndows 8 or 8.1] select the proper BIOS which contains the firmware.

While I am appreciating you trying to help me, I dont understand what you think the Asus Factory Recovery partition of about 20 GB has to do with the BIOS ?
I deleted the Asus Factory Recovery partition (that reinstalls windows 8.0 and drivers) and somehow need a new copy.

Windows is a licensed based service. You cannot simply install a generic recovery partition from asus unless it has a licence attached to it. The Bios on the other hand is a completely different package as well but it allows you to install Windows over USB. The Bios also contains the windows 8 product key which can be extracted using a piece of software.

If the user can extract the licensed key, they can build an unlicensed windows 8.1 bootable USB and then apply the licence.
