You will have to forgive Swipe, He is more familiar with the methods for recovering Android systems which are open unlicensed platforms (Asus provides the firmware for free) where as Windows is a licensed piece of software which is independent of the manufacturer (OEM)

Windows notebooks used to come with a product key on the bottom which you could use to reinstall windows without a recovery. Now that product key is contained within the BIOS and can be detected by an installer.

The purpose of the recovery is to preserve all the OEM bloatware and "features" which can easily be installed from their website. The other advantage of recovery is that is lets you easily use the reset functions build into Windows 8.1. You dont have a recovery so you will have to use a different method. I actually did this yesterday when installing the Win 10 Technical Preview.

This guide has everything you need to fresh install windows. You can see that your computer will automatically detect the licence key if you have the correct Windows version.Need help formatted genuine windows 8 in lenovo

I hope that helped you out

    Caster and Swipe like this.

Solved. I made a Windows 8 USB installer with embedded drivers. It automatically detects the product key in bios and activates windows.
