Factory reset after upgrading to Windows 10?

I need to reset by T200 to factory settings before returning it, but have upgraded it to Windows 10. Will I need to downgrade back to Windows 8 before I can use the reset option on the F9 menu?

Once on Windows 10 you can reset Windows 10 through Windows 10's settings. It will still have Windows 10 but a full reset wipes everything else.

Actually I believe that it needs to be reset to Windows 8 (i.e. the state that it was in when purchased). Presumably there no quick way of resetting to a virgin Windows 8 state?

Why would you think it needs to be reset to Windows 8. Doesn't make any sense...

That was what the seller stipulated

Well that is odd, but your best bet is therefore to simply wipe it and install W8 via the media creation tool with a legal download from MS.

Is it not possible to downgrade to W8 by simply backing out the W10 update?

It is possible to roll back to the previous OS, IF you do it within the first 30 days after the upgrade and the necessary recovery files are still there. Otherwise, no.

OK I only upgraded last week, so should be able to revert back to Win 8. Thanks.

"Could not find recovery environment" when trying to reset

I need to return a T200 to the seller, having already upgraded from Windows 8 to Windows 10. I've managed to downgrade from Windows 10 back to Windows 8, using the Recovery option in Settings, but now when I try to reset using the "Remove everything and reinstall Windows" in the Recovery menu I get a message saying "Could not find the recovery environment...Insert your Windows installation or recovery media, and restart your PC with the media".

I have used the Media Creation tool to create installation media on a USB memory stick, but didn't have any luck trying to use it:
    - When I try to do a clean install to any of the partitions it tells me that it is unable to install to any of the 3 partitions
    - When I try the repair option and chose the Troubleshoot...Reset Your PC" option I am asked for a recovery key (which I don't have, so chose to skip that step), then when it attempts to reset I get the message "Unable to reset your PC. A required drive parition is missing"

    Any ideas???
