    Losing Wi-Fi (capability not connection)

I have been sporadically losing the capability to connect to an internet network via Wi-Fi and the only remedy seems to be re-booting.
However, this isn't solving the problem long-term and I don't know what is causing it.
The only common denominator was that it had been left on charge. In each case, however, there were differences in terms of once it was in sleep mode, once it was shut down completely.

The help topics I have already searched through are all concerned with loss of network. This is not what is happening though. I completely lose the WI-Fi symbols/buttons in the settings menu and it only gives me a symbol showing that ethernet is not connected.

I have already had to send one of these books back because the port connecting it to the keyboard was malfunctioning.
I really don't want there to be another issue for me to call Asus for...

Any suggestions, anyone? All help gratefully received.

    Welcome to the forum

I have seen that problem when a computer can no longer "properly" see that a connection is available which would indicate there may be an issue with the router. Have you tried to reproduce that problem at a different location, like a public hotspot?

It's also possible you have some software interfering with it. What are you using as an anti virus program?

Are you fully up-to-date with the firmware and Microsoft patches?

I have a similar problem and the only solution has been to reboot the computer each time I start it. This started a couple of weeks ago. I've tried in multiple venues to connect to internet, but the computer says no network connections are available until I reboot.

The other thing that worked is to go into the device settings (right-click on the start icon) and disable the wifi, wait awhile, then re enable it.

This obviously isn't working correctly. I am interested in a way to solve this.

    Thanks

I had this issue, but it was completely solved when I uninstalled this Windows Update:

Broadcom - Other hardware - Broadcom 802.11abgn Wireless SDIO Adapter
    Download size: 2.2 MB
You may need to restart your computer for this update to take effect.
    Update type: Optional
Broadcom Other hardware software update released in April, 2015

Actually, I may have not truly uninstalled but rolled back the driver...I can't recall now.
