How to disable touch functionality of the screen

    Hi All,

What is the best way to quickly enable / disable the touch functionality of the screen.

The screen goes nuts when fine moisture is around. Drying the screen does not solve the problem in those cases. The system must be restarted. So it would be nice if there is a short-cut to disable that feature.

FVH - There isn't a direct key combination or designated key that disables and enables the touch functionality of the Transformer T200. However, if needs be you should be able to disable and enable the "HID-Compliant Touch" driver found in the device manager. This would disable the touch screen function of your Transformer and enable it when necessary.

To have the driver disabled and re-enabled onto the operating system, proceed with the following steps please:

    Step 1: Press Windows Key + X.
    Step 2: Select "Device Manager."
Step 3: Look for "Human Interface Devices" adapter.
Step 4: Select and double click the driver related for "touch" (you may possibly see "HID-Compliant Touch")
Step 5: Right click and select "Disable"

If you'd like to enable the HID-Compliant Touch driver then you would repeat the above steps but select "Enable" instead of "Disable."

There is a command line utility called DEVCON.exe that provides functionality similar to device manager. It has to be downloaded separately since it's not included in Windows by default.

Installing DevCon on Windows 8.1 | Plugable

I believe there's a way to restart specific device id's with it. Once you figure out the command line arguments you could create a simple .bat file and put a shortcut to it on your desktop, and then assign a Windows shortcut key to it.
