    Broadcom GNSS 4752 Geolocation Sensor

    Hi All,

Has anyone had any success with using the GNSS sensor on the T200?
I've been having a bit of a fiddle, but can't get it to really do anything..
I've tried a number of applications now, and some see it and connect to it (PC Navigator) but don't get any data out..
Windows apps (like Here Map don't seem to know it exists at all.

Anyone use it or have any idea of how to get it working properly (i.e as a GPS)

    Cheers,
    iTrasus

Go to the Windows App Store and look for an app called "GPS Satellite". Seems to be working for me, but I've not used it much.

Thanks for the suggestion, I should have mentioned that this is one of the apps I'm trying to get going. It doesn't seem to see the GNSS, just uses wireless.

Out of interest, which model do you have? I've seen a little about people with the 4G version of this machine having some success, but nothing about the non 4G model.

I have the T200TA-C1-BL. When I disable (in device manager) both the wifi chip and the GNSS chip, the app can't find my location. But when I enable the GNSS (and leave wifi disabled) it can find my latitude and longitude, so I assume the GPS chip is working. You might need to update your driver. I believe the chipset driver on the Asus download page is the one that has the driver for this chip. It's the SoC (system on a chip, I suppose) driver.

Well my GNSS seems to have miraculously started working. About the only thing I can think of that changed was I turned it off for a bit in Airplane mode settings, then back on.
PC Navigator also updated to version 14.
I guess one of the two fixed it!

Still no luck for me with getting the supposed internal GPS to work. Also find it interesting that the ASUS folks have commented on a lot of posts in this forum, but not on any of the GPS issues.
Help ASUS? I love my T200 other than the non-existant GPS sensor and the touchpad randomly not working on boot up as mentioned by others.

Not me. Installed the correct drivers from the download site and all I get is this:

This device cannot start. (Code 10)

    {Operation Failed}
    The requested operation was unsuccessful.

Guess I'll have to live without it...

I see a couple of Broadcom updates being offered by Windows Updates Optional Updates currently -- one of which is the Location Sensor.

Normally I recommend not to get specialized hardware updates from Microsoft Windows Update but .... if all else has failed it just might be worth while.

You do have a system image you can use to restore from if everything goes wrong? Free Macrium Reflect is an excellent tool that I use now. Very good HELP files with it.
