Standard 2.5" ssd or hdd WILL fit in the T200TA Dock, here's how (Video)

I did manage to add my Vertex 4 ssd to my T200TA, here's how:

Fits just fine, screw the 4 screws for the bracket back in as these hold the keyboard in and stop it from bouncing.

Oh one thing I noticed, Windows still detects it as a Hard drive even if it's an ssd. So no trim support and your also capped to USB3 speeds.

Do you have to eject the drive using "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" when you detach the keyboard?

Yes ASM1153 is the device to "Safely Remove Hardware and Eject Media" and then remove the keyboard dock.

Put a Crucial M4 64Gb SSD in mine yesterday. Cover was a bit snug to get closed.

I attempted to put in a 160GB WD Notebook Drive I had lying around in it, about 9.8mm wide(high?)

Got it in (no caddy), but it made the keyboard bow up like crazy.

I definitely wouldn't recommend anyone doing it. went out and bought a Samsung 850 SSD instead, went in as snug as a bug.

My 200TA keyboard was awfully bent when I tried to install a 9mm HDD. I would also NOT recommend this. That bay is designed for 7mm HDDs/SSDs only.
