    TRAVEL : T100 or T200?

    did anybody use both devices?
    i m looking for smth mostly for travel.
    so far had a chance to check on t100, noted disgusting pad and low length charger, also just 1 usb port, (+some report screen that cracks easily),
    however portable light quite responsive unit;
    t200 should be out of these troubles, but far not portable.
    not clear on battery run time..
    suggestions?

    I have owned both, currently have the T200. The T200 is superior to the T100 in all ways except small size. I found the T100 to be too small. The 11.6 inch T200 hits the sweet spot for me for portability.

    I have the 64 GB SSD and there is only 46 GB available for the C partition after Asus Recovery partition. And of the 46 GB only 33.4 GB is free for user stuff. I think 32 GB of ram would not be enough for me. 2 GB ram is probably OK if you do not run with many windows open.

    Good luck, Jim

    I haven't done any work on battery life yet. I will probably do something this weekend.

    Well, the T200 weighs about 0.2 to 0.3 pounds more than my 13.3 inch UX303LA, so it will feel heavier when you pick it up. But, it has a textured surface which gives a better grip. The T100 has a slick surface which feels as if it is going to slip out of your hands.

    I think the T200 will be just fine for travel.

    Jim

    The T100 is just too cramped to use comfortably with that keyboard. The slow charging is also an issue when many hotel rooms won't let you have power on unless you're in the room.

    I have T100 and have experienced two screen cracks in less than a year. The first was a two foot drop while in a protective case. That I had repaired. The second just happened and is of unknown origin, except it was positively not dropped. It is a vertical crack that started at the bottom of the screen. This one will not be repaired and I am in the market for a new device.
    In my opinion, the screen border design does not protect the glass enough making the T100 prone to cracking.

    For travel I would recommend something small and cheap. So I'd rather take a second hand T100 than a brand new T200. The T100 works better as a tablet, where the T200 works better as a laptop to me (screen size and such).

    Personally I would feel very uncomfortable bringing a brand new expensive tablet on my travels. Chances of it breaking/getting stolen/losing it a re too big.
