Audio questions...
I have a few audio-related questions.
Right now I have the internal mic set as my T100 mic.
When I power up I am getting a nasty feedback loop.
Mic feeds into speakers which feeds into mic etc.
and I get a loud squealing noise.
If I bring down the mic, it doesn't help.
Next time I boot up the same thing happens.
I'd also like to know how I can use an external mic with
this notebook?
What type of mic do I need and what type of connector?
I can only see one place to plug in.
Does it take a mono, stereo, or 4-line plug?
Will this external mic improve the sound heard by another party
on Skype?
TIA!

Hi Tia, allow us to extend our apologies about the inconvenience that this has caused and we'll be happy to help as best as we can. Do you get the same feedback if you are using the mic? Is it only on startup? We would need your serial number or exact model number to check if it is stereo, mono or 4-line plug. The single 3.5mm jack that you see is a combo jack that can use either a headphone or a microphone.

Thanks for helping!
First of all, I am not using an external mic yet.
I would like to use one, but don't know which to buy and which connector to use.
I figured out a way to stop the feedback with the internal mic.
I turn off the speaker and then when I re-boot it stays off.
This stops the feedback loop.
But I have a new problem now.
I wanted to try to connect an external condensor mic.
It has a mono 3.5 mm plug.
I went into settings and disabled the internal mic.
I tried to plug in the external mic but it didn't work.
Now I can't get the internal mic to work again!
Can you please tell me what I should do exactly, to get the internal mic working again?
No devices are shown for recording on my T100 now.

Sorry about the delayed response. Please right click on the speaker icon at the lower right then choose recording device. You can then choose the internal mic as the default one. When you insert your mic in the 3.5mm jack you should get a popup from the Audio application for you to choose which device is connected. This happens because the jack is a combo jack.
