    Internet connection gone...

OK guys I can really use your help now!

Previously, I would simply connect my ASUS T100 via a Dell ethernet adapter to my cable modem and away I would go.
    Internet!

Something changed and I don't know what.
I just got off the phone from my internet provider (2 hours later) and they couldn't find anything at their end.

They suggested I contact my notebook manufacturer.
I have a backup T100 and it is exactly the same, no connection.

I CAN make a connection using WiFi though.
This is a direct connect issue.

Any ideas what I should try?
    I have no idea.

    TIA

    God bless Microsoft!

For the very first time ever, in more than two decades of MS software use, their Troubleshooting Help came through!
I went into the Internet Connection section and selected troubleshooting. They found my adapter was disabled and enabled it!
I'm back in business but completely puzzled as to why it became disabled.

Hi MarkMan, allow us to apologize for the inconvenience that this had caused. It could be that a recent software change had disabled your LAN adapter such an update to the OS. If you need additional assistance, please let us know.
