So finaly got round to doing the BIOS dump so i can get back, this time i did about 5 copes just to make sure they are all the same.

    well Spectre fix.png

it works YAY, got a T100TAM with updated Microcode, only problem is (well not a problem for me) it will only work with z3775 CPU as for some reason i cant update all 3 microcodes with out bricking it, but if i remover them all and only insert one it works fine, rocket if you would like the bios just say and i will PM you the file as i think i cant link to it here or even upload the file.

    1. I don't understand what you mean by "...got a T100TAM with updated Microcode, only problem is (well not a problem for me) it will only work with z3775 CPU as for some reason i cant update all 3 microcodes with out bricking it...". My T100TAM has the z3775.
    2. You can PM me the file link (Google Drive or something); can't actually PM a file. Will hold on to it for a while, don't want to risk bricking at this time.

BTW, it says you are still using Windows 8 32 bit. I'm using Windows 10 32 bit.
My current BIOS 400 says: BIOS 400(T100TAM) Update FRC This BIOS version is only for Windows 10

What is FRC? Maybe this is the cause of some of your issues?

i would of liked to updated all 3 microcodes so if other people could update there T100TAM, as not all of them had the Z3775 CPU.
i will Zip up the BIOS file and the program i used to flash it too as i dont know if you can use the normal ASUS flash program.

i am running windows 10 1803 on this laptop, dont know why it ways windows 8, must be a bug or something, in fact every system i run that program on says windows 8 even if it is being run on win 10.

Sent you PM with link to zipped ROM file.
I thought all T100TAM's were z3775 CPU. Asus specs for the TAM don't even list the z3775. We know that's wrong.
    https://www.asus.com/us/2-in-1-PCs/A...pecifications/

Used WinFlash to open your bin file (MC_update.bin).
Message is: The BIOS file is older than your current BIOS version.

Both have Build date of 03/07/2016
    Only choice is Exit.

    WinFlash version is 3.1.0

Used a Hex editor to find the date in both files.
    I changed it to 07/11/2018

That worked, but error message now reads:
Adapter is not connected to the device.

It said that before on the opening page of WinFlash

It says: System power is supplied from the battery
But, charger is plugged in & working???

Fixed it by removing & reattaching adapter.

It still says Version 400, need to change that, too.
Can't find the word Version; more than one 400.
I think it could be the string right before the date string that I changed.
Nope, that one didn't change it.

Changed 2 of them to 500 & now it's displaying 500 in WinFlash.

Found a 2nd date code after the first one: Mar 7 2016

Now it will update, but not ready to try that, yet.

BTW, they added new models to the list.
    Link to microcode availability
Only had T101HA & T102HA on the list, now T103HAF is added to T1XXX series. Within a Laptop Group, there is no alphanumeric order.

just looked at the microcode in both the TA and TAM and they are the same??? i know 30678 is our CPU, z3775, the other two from what google has told me is a intel atom z3740d (30673) and 30672 i cant find any where?

I used afuwin to flash as i know winflash/easyflash have checks in place, that way if asus do up date it, there should be no problem in updating. from what i believe all what winflash does is check the bios and then moves it to the efi dir then just reboots, easyflash takes over then.

Thank you for that, i will compare mine to yours just to check they are the same (i believe they are)

Asus specs do seem to be lacking, hell they have win 64bit drivers for the TAM but only TAM i know of that is 64bit is from france, and that has some sort of atom x#### CPU in it, would love to find the bios from that

just opened up both mine and your bios in a HEX editor and there is some differences in them, have no idea why there is as they are both stock 400 so there shouldnt be any?

ooo think i know why there is a difference now, it looks like NVRAM is apart of the BIOS, as i compare mine, yours and d-encapsulated bios from asus, from offset(h) 10383 too C0000 look like NVRAM too me as in the stock BIOS that is all FF but in mine and yours there is refaraces to NVAR.
    do you have bitlocker disabled?

Winflash will update the BIOS, Easyflash will brick it There are threads here to confirm this.
#2 in this thread: T100 model# and BIOS Guide - No discussions please
Do not by any means use, EASY FLASH method, or force BIOS by any method on the T100 unit except WINFLASH which works, any other way/method/wrong BIOS you are likely going to brick your T100.

You said: what winflash does is check the bios and then moves it to the efi dir then just reboots, easyflash takes over then.
That's probably correct since there is a BIOS recovery method using a flash drive.

It seems that I've found a way to launch UEFI BIOS Recovery process on the T100TA. Here is what you need to do:

    1. Download the latest BIOS version (313)
    2. Format a USB stick as FAT32
    3. Copy T100TAAS.313 to the root of the USB disk and rename it to T100TA.bin (T100TA has to be uppercase, the extension needs to be lowercase - this is very important)
    4. Connect the keyboard, insert the USB stick into the dock USB port
    5. Make sure the tablet is plugged in (otherwise the flash tool will show an error)
    6. PRESS THE HARDWARE START BUTTON on the left side of the tablet and without releasing the button power on the tablet by holding the Power button for ~2 seconds
    7. When the camera indicator lights up, release the start button and wait
    8. After several seconds you will see the blue screen of the flash utility

I have just tried it on my working T100TA, and I was able to reflash 313 with no issues. Reflashing this way resets NVRAM as well.
    My Bitlocker is disabled.

i have flashed and reflash with afuwin with no bricks apart from bad bios files which was my fault not the program, the big problem with AFUwin is it will not check to make sure your bios is the right one for the system, winflash does this, since this is a custom BIOS winflash/easyflash might have a fit over it AFUwin will just flash it even if it is wrong.

thought so, didnt know NVram would store bitlocker stuff i can see it in mine but not in yours, yes i got bit locker on, should really turn it off, will remake it with the blank BIOS from ASUS and test that one, should work, if you flash that one i gave you it might change some NVram settings.

oo yer that has helped me a few times, i keep a copy of my bios on a USB flash stick and try that first when i mess up and most of the time it works, when i doesnt then the Raspberry Pi comes out to play.

will try the new blank BIOS when i got time, will use winflash, wonder if there is a way to tell it to ignore the version...

Use hex editor to change the date from 03/07/2016 to 07/13/2018.
Do the same for the BIOS version (not necessary for Winflash to ignore, but good for knowing it's a different version).
Need to get it to work with WinFlash if you want it to be useful for anyone else.

I got to the point in Winflash with no gross errors & where it was ready to flash the modified date file.
I stopped there because my only way to recover is with the USB drive method, which is not 100% reliable.
