Unhappy Asus Transformer Book T100TA can't boot

    Hi!

I had touchscreen issues on my T100TA with Win10. I tried everything but could not get it to work, so I wanted to downgrade to Win8 since this was functioning fine earlier.
I looked up how to boot from USB and found to simultaniously press the "power" and "windows" button on the top left corner of the tablet.
When I tried this, the white LED near the camera turned on, but the screen stayed black. No logo, nothing.

It is like this ever since. Even if I try to turn it on normally (without pressing "windows") the LED lights up but the screen stays dark.
I already tried doing a soft reset by holding down the power button for 30 secs(it powers off after about 3'' but i kept pressing it), turning it on while charging, disconnected the battery for a few minutes and starting with "power"+"esc" and generally any combination of "power"+"key" out of frustration. It did not change anything at all.

Hopefully one of you guys can help me get it working again.

    Bob

    Welcome

If it is in warranty, then send it to Asus. If not, you have a few choices...
    1. Double check you cannot boot into the bios following our guides here as what you describe is not something normal.
    2. Let the battery run down so flat that the entire device powers off fully. You have a fair chance it will work normally after it is recharged as long as you haven’t done more than you have written
    3. If you want something quicker than 2, dismantle the tablet and then disconnect the battery. Leave for 60 seconds and then reconnect it. Try rebooting again.

    EDIT
I wrote the above and then re-read your post. If you have already tried disconnecting the battery, then you have already tried 2 & 3. I don’t know what you have done, but it sounds to me as if your device may well be toast.

One thing I have read is that getting to the setup screen where you choose to enter BIOS can be a bit hit and miss. It has been reported here that you cannot do it while plugged into a/c so you might try that.

The technique appears to be hit the power on button and then as soon as the LED lights up, hit esc.

One final thing you could try is to connect to an external screen in some way to see if the device is booting, but just not displaying.
