Asus Transformer Unusable

Hi, I am having a problem with an Asus Transformer that my parents own but which model it is I could not say. The transformer gets to the login page. The name is there and the password spot but when I try tapping it on the screen or with the touchpad it sends me to the screensaver and it keeps doing the same thing the whole time. I thought letting it go dead would help but it hasn't. All I know is that it had windows 8 but could've been upgraded before this issue.

Any help would be appreciated

Either...
you do not have the login details correct
your MS account has been hacked and the details changed
you are not connected to the Internet

One solution would be to double check the MS account details by logging on elsewhere
If they are correct, then either rebuild via recovery or just wipe it and do a clean install.

Of course, everything is backed up, isn't it.
