    T100HA - Windows 8.1

Hello everyone. I'm using a T100HA (win 10, 128GB Hdd, 4GB Ram) and am having a lot of problems with windows 10. Most of all, when I close the lid, the touchscreen starts working and opens/does alot of stuff on my computer.

I've started to hate this immature windows (I think it's going to take at least 1 more year until they get it to a stable version) and want to switch to windows 8.1. My problem is the fact that ASUS doesn't officialy support windows 8.1 with drivers (only windows 10) so I would like to know what drivers should I install.

    Thank you!

    Welcome to the forum

If your HA came with W10 you should not be having these problems. W10 will not be the cause and you should contact your retailer for a replacement.

Or, you can spend hours rooting around in the settings and device manager to get your HA to do what it should have done out of the box.

The choice is up to you. IMO regressing to W8.1 is going to cause more issues, not less.

    Thanks for your reply.

I tweaked some stuff (uninstalled some asus stuff and tweaked the settings) and now it somehow works. Still, if I would want to regress to 8.1, do you have a sugestion about the drivers I should use?
    Thanks.

It's not really a matter of what drivers to use. ASUS provides them for you on their site. Windows 10 drivers should work fine with 8.1. You will need a paid license for 8.1 in order to use it because yours shipped with a Windows 10 license.

This is something that really interest me, so please keep us updated if you do.

Me I'm not really after the Windows 8.1 experience, but I own two Pro licenses of Win 8.1 and would like to change from Home to Pro to recover a bit of the functionality that is the difference between Home and Pro.
I'd love to give it a shot one day, but I doubt that I'll get ahead of you and try it sometime soon.

Well, I got a 8.1 pro from a friend, formatted and installed it from a USB. But I keep getting driver errors (SOC drivers and wireless drivers - something about an update error).
My touchscreen doesn't work and it's always in portrait mode so I'm breaking my neck over here.

I'll keep trying and post the results here.

    Just a quick update.
Windows 8.1 wouldn't allow me to install the SoC drivers, couldn't install anything actually. I came back to windows 10 after 2 days of trying, everything worked perfectly.

Conclusion: T100HA official drivers for Windows 10 drivers will not work with windows 8.1. Maybe someone can put this in the "don't" area or something.
