    Angry Boot Problems

I wish I had more info. Bought a t100taf. Had it on charge for 15 hours. The whole time I just got a flickering orange light. I sent it in under warranty, got it back today, and the only thing I can note is masking tape on the charger. So, plug it in again, 8 hours later, nothing but orange light flickering, though I get a clear 4-5 flashes (really fast, I tried counting) when I hold the power button. It's been on the dock the whole time, if that could be an issue.
I've tried the power for 30, off for 10, power again from another thread, but it seems clear it isn't maintaining charge. I've called customer support again, and am simply being told to go to the retailer and get a refund. Person on the phone could not understand my explanation of why that is impossible (and this is why tech support should not be off shore).

    Hey, and thanks.

I didn't want to get off topic ranty, but long story short, refund is not an option. Retailer is in administration, so I would only be offered store credit (at best) which would not be honoured.

Not clear if this is a charging issue or a boot problem. It sounds like a pretty bad charging issue so you should send it back under warranty again until they fix it. I don't know if you reset the device back to factory or not but that is probably the only thing you can do if it is up to date in BIOS and drivers.

You will probably have to work that out with Asus. I would probably demand to speak to a manager or someone higher up. If it isn't fixed in two tries, they should give you a new unit.

    zannen-

I don't know where you're located. If you're in the U.S. I would contact member Asus_USA - email socialsupportus@asus.com with the details on your recurring problem. Hopefully they can look into the matter for you. If you're not in the States it still might be worthwhile contacting them. Asus also has a live chat function and a technical inquiry form on their website. We recommend you phone Asus whenever possible as their email response thru their website seems hit-or-miss.

I may update this post if I can locate higher-level contacts for you. Best of luck with your efforts.

Asus_USA is the "Social Media Team" located in Fremont, California - "Technical Support Department"
