Used windows T100TA - account change question

    Hello,

I searched and couldn't find this, but if it's here i'm sorry.

My neighbor gave me his dad's T100TA-B2-GR, but no documents or anything else, but did give me the password to get on to it. So I can access it and it looks like it wasn't ever used. My question is how do I change the user: account name, email, etc? is that possible?

    Thanks,
    Mike

For apps like mail it's just matter of removing the account then adding yours. The user name answer is not that straightforward. In "users" you can rename the user, (I would remove the password first) but it will leave the old user and the user on the drive and only change the login name. If it was me I would do a full reset and start over.

How does one do the reset? Can I do it if I don't have anything but the tablet?

    Thanks!

I don't see why not. Settings - update security - recovery.

Click "start" then settings, then security. Should be the last icon. You are on Windows, right?

Yes on windows. Found it as tried it but said some files were missing and needed to come from my installation media - which I don't have... Any thoughts?

I did and it replied "Windows Resource Protection did not find any integrity violations."

Then I don't know why a rest wouldn't work. Do you have a 3rd party security app installed?
