hello all, i am also experiencing the same issue, when i use shift keys the keyboard dies entirely. it is intermittent as i've just realized, because after suffering from the error last few days it's working now
<TEST???>
without disconnecting the keyboard, i opened the device manager, uninstalled the 2 keyboard drivers, and hit scan for system changes, which reinstalls the keyboard drivers, keys a-z work fine until i hit shift, then the whole keyboard becomes dysfunctional. it has been highly repeatable error.
I was quite surprised that it worked for just now this time as i needed to register to this forum and produced an @ symbol with shift 2 key... 1st time it's worked.
I believe this is a software issue!
i'm running win 10 which is upto date, as it updated just the other day.
Please advise.

Hello, I'm facing the same problem too. Would be grateful if someone could give a solution.

Hi I have the identical problem with mu ASUS t100 transformer book. Took it to some competent hardware guys and they were baffled as well. Tried a factory reset - didn't work. This will be my last ASUS purchase unless there is a simple fix.

same problem here, fn key works but doesn't do a thing. works again after reconnecting the dock. happened while updating to windows anniversary update, during the updating process problems started. attached usb keyboard works. anyone found a solution? at least i can type again after testing some drivers and trying to reinstall the keyboard through device manager.

Out of curiosity, is everyone who is having this issue using Windows 10?

I just had that problem with my t100. It appears that this is caused by some buttons being stuck or something. Mine was Esc and F3. Look for the behavior of the keyboard when you attach it. Mine was opening ang closing the Find window in Notepad. I managed to fix the problem by lifting and pulling out the keys. Be careful as the plastic is thin and I managed to break my Esc key plastic spring. I just wiggled and blew on the rubber. When I tested it again everything works again. I can use Shift, ctrl etc. Hope this works for your tablets.

I was stuck with this for month now ... almost break the tablet
Thanks a lot, just passing with my finger on all the keys brutally fixed this bug...

I had the exact same issue where pressing shift, ctrl, or windows keys would disable the keyboard and even on BIOS. Searched all over the net but found no solution. But then I remembered using Teamviewer weeks ago and had to uninstall because it was causing keyboard problems. So I decided to install it again and you guessed it, keyboard starting to function normally again at last! I decided never to use Teamviewer again on this laptop so I just uninstalled it again and issue did not persist. I hope this will work for you too.

Hi there,
Was just wondering if you were ever able to fix that issue with your keyboard freezing when you hit the ctrl, shift, alt, etc keys? Am currently having that same thing on my t100. Hope to hear back from you.
Thanks.
