Please let me know if you have the following problem and/or know how resolve it:

PROBLEM
It is impossible to move the cursor a small distance (<15 pixels) from rest.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Draw a small square in Paint (say, 15 x 15 pixels). Place cursor inside the square, lift your finger. Try to move the cursor WITHIN the square.

EXPECTED BEHAVIOR
Moving the finger slightly should move the cursor slightly.

PROBLEMATIC BEHAVIOR
Instead, the cursor lags, then moves about 20 pixels (outside of the square).

WHY THIS IS A BIG UX PROBLEM
Assume you want to click a small UI element with the touchpad. To do this, you need to move the cursor, lift your finger, tap. If you miss the small UI element you want to click (say, the "close tab" button), you try to correct this by moving the cursor slightly from rest (after you raised the finger from touchpad to perform a tap). However, with current behavior you will miss the UI element again, which is very frustrating.

The need to move the cursor just a little bit from rest arises in many other scenarios.

NOTE
This is in addition to the infamous "touchpad sleep" problem discussed in other threads where after about 20 seconds of inactivity the touchpad enters a "sleep" mode and will will lag after being touched (causing the cursor to jump about 100 pixels if you move it from rest).
