    Windows failed to start

Hello everyone, Whenever I start my tablet it gives a me a black screen and shows "Windows cannot be started". It all started when I got an error from shutting down last night. The next morning after that I received this "windows cannot be start" whenever I boot it up. The error said to use an Windows Installation disk. That isn't possible for the T100 since I don't have cd drive. I was thinking about using a Usb Windows loader instead but, not sure if it works. Anyone have any suggestion on how to fix my problem?

When starting hold down the up volume button to go in to the recovery/restore menu, or spam F9 while connected to the keyboard dock upon starting (and BEFORE the Asus loading logo pops up).

Tried both but, can't get the recovery menu to come up. I manage to get into the Bios option though and boot Windows Usb. Problem now is I can't delete any partitions from my hard drive. Whenever I try to format it, I get an error. Any idea why?

EDIT: Got "Windows could not set the offline locale information" error while installing...Any reason why?

All of the reference I can find point to likely a bad/dead drive. The eMMC or storage controller might have gone belly up. That would explain the inability to get in to the restore menu also, as well as the failure to boot windows. Sounds like time to call Asus.

Thank you so much for finding that out! Just wondering if there is any way to open it up to fix it since I lost the Microsoft Office card. (Apparently it is the warranty card for it?) I don't see any screws...

EDIT: BTW I have the T100TA-C1-GR. The HDD is in Tablet instead of the keyboard.

Its not a hard drive, its eMMC. Basically a small flash chip. No its not replaceable. Not without a soldering iron and some serious skills.

Call Asus for a warranty repair. Thats about your only option in this case.

The office card is not the warranty card for it. You are supposed to register it within, I think 90 days, of purchase with Asus. Then if something goes south on it, you contact them and all you should need at that point is the serial number. Its on the back bottom of the tablet, so long as you didn't remove that sticker.
