I have downloaded the 220 version from Notebooks & Ultrabooks - ASUS Transformer Book T100 and flashed it, then it shut down and I can't get it to turn back on. Any ideas on what to do now?

    Very slow sd card problem

    Hello all,

I've recently got the T100 and this is a great device. However, I have a really annoying problem with the sd card.
It was fine at first, but on the second day, after having installed a game on the sd card (a class 10 sandisk 64go), every programs
installed on the card started to run awfully slow (double click on icon, wait for 30sec or more, cinematics in game not even able to play properly etc).
There is not much on the internet about that but
    I tried the following things:
    - Another micro sd card (same problem)
    - Set "better performance" in the device property (same problem)
    - Disable windows defender (same problem)
    - Do a system recovery (it worked at first, but then started to go slow again today)

I've launched a speed test using H2testw 1.4. Writing and reading rate are fine (approx 9 & 18mb/s).
In another thread, someone mentioned the fact that maybe the microsd card should be formatted before use, do you think this could help (I could do it on another pc because on the T100 I did not find the option to do so)?
If anyone got an idea, I would be happy to try it because I've run out of solution for now

Thank you!! (English is not my native langage so please forgive my errors).
Forgot to say that Bios is at 2.20 version

bios update on mine worked without issuue so I cant speak on that part, however I can say that my Sandisk Ultra 64gb is working formatted exfat.

I am sure you have tried, but maybe hold down the power button for an extended period of time, say 10+ seconds maybe longer. If it works you should the screen flash, going from black to dark grey and back to black, then try to power it back on. Mine occasionally had that problem before I reloaded W8.

You should definitely be able to format any microSD card on the T100.

Go to the standard Windows desktop, open an explorer window, find the Sandisk card, right click, select format, format with NTFS.

Signed up to say I have exactly the same problem as OP, also with SanDisk Ultra 64GB cards. Already on 220 firmware as well.

I have three different cards and have tried all three, each being formatted as NTFS, exFAT and FAT32.
For some reason the T100 has no issue reading my cards and I can copy data off them just fine but any attempt to write data onto the cards gives me:
Error 0x80070079: The semaphore timeout period has expired.
Tried to replicate the issue with a 2GB microSD (FAT32) but no issues at all, so I think its got something to do with the size of the cards as well.
Does anyone else have similar issues or did I just get a bad unit?

This is a real dealbreaker for me so definitely considering exchanging/returning my T100 even though its a great little device.

Folks who have updated their BIOS to v2.20 should have no issue using their microSD card. It should be pretty much a plug-and-play experience.

Just be careful when ejecting the little bugger! I think my T100 has a heavy duty spring or something because I pressed it this morning and the sodding thing pinged clear across the room!

Not sure what happened but mine suddenly started working when I took it back to the shop to return it...
That might be the next thing to try OP!

For what it's worth, my friend's T100 started acting up again, so updating the BIOS didn't fix it after all. I'd guess the best option is to just exchange it if this happens.

    ↑ This
Mine worked when I took it back to the shop to exchange. Took it back home and it only worked on and off maybe every 2 or 3 time I restarted the unit.
Decided it wasn't worth it and got a new unit today which seems to be have no issues so far. Fingers crossed.
