    No sound out of speakers...ugh

Got my new Transformer T100 today. After charging the unit, I did a factory reset and updated to Bios 220. After doing so, I'm not getting any sound out of the speakers. I don't have the Windows Mute on, and the volume is set all the way up via the external button. I am pretty sure that the sound was working prior to my factory reset and bios update.

I can hear using headphones through the 3.5mm jack, but the sound isn't very loud.

I updated the sound driver with the one on the Asus website.

Somebody please help.....I like the device, but having no sound is not acceptable!

Assuming all the updates completed....have y9ou tried doing a full power-down and re-start power up?

Sometimes updates don't complete until a power-down and restart are completed (like on PCs).

I was having similar problems with the sound, along with other weird stuff, after updating to 220 BIOS; I did a system recovery, and everything has been fine since......

Sounds like you might have a corrupt driver file then...a reinstall of the driver should fix that for you.

I reinstalled all the drivers with no luck. Asus customer support told me to do the same. I hope that I'm not missing a stupid setting somewhere. I don't think so because as soon as I plug in the headphone, I hear sound. So unless there is some way to Mute the speakers only, I don't think I'm doing anything wrong.

Any more help from anyone will be very appreciated. I'm bumming that I may have to send this back.

on the top row of your keyboard, on the right, press the speaker button with the X through it.

I had the same problem. Fixed it by going to control panel, hardware and sound, manage audio devices. And then setting speakers (Intel SST audio device) as default.
Additional note; I also have a HDMI cable connected to the TV (which was were the sound was coming from, although I didn't know as it was muted). And I also have a bluetooth pick up device for my amp. Somehow, I dunno how as I didn't touch anything - it switched automatically to the TV speakers.

I just had this problem after some installing/uninstalling of audo driver. I noticed that in Control Panel/system devices, at the beginning once it was working, there were 2 issues regarding the sound. One seems connected with the audio driver, the other one I don't know, its' now listed into "unknown device" and can't be recognized. So I assume there must be some additional driver for the sound , isn't it?
