Try another monitor or TV, if not your mini hdmi port must have a hardware fault and you will need to RMA with Asus

Hmmm... Micro HDMI cable turned up just before the weekend. I had problems until I noticed that it was intermittently detected my LG TV. Turns out I have a dodgy connection and need to apply slight pressure to make it consistent and support the second display. Have ordered another cable online, I hope its that rather than a fault on the port itself.

same problem here, dodgy connection, with 3 different cable on the mini HDMI port. I called Asus they say they are not aware of the issue. Is it really so are do we have more people with the same issue?

That could be an issue regarding which version of HDMI is supported with a cable.

HDTVs, for example, have connections that support various "versions" (based on age of the device and manufacturer support). In my case, I use a micro HDMI adapter and mini to standard HDMI cable. More important, the cable and connector are HDMI v1.4a compatible, allowing it to work on the most recent version of HDMI and earlier versions as well. The T100 supports this cable version perfectly. I've used it with more than 20 different HDTVs in hotel rooms for example.

Some HDTV's will not operate from an external source without a comparable version cable, meaning an HDMI 1.2 cable will not work with an HDMI 1.4-enabled HDTV. Backward compatibility, however, is supported - so the bottom line is get the most current HDMI version cable possible.

Here's a link to a good brief explanation of the various version HDMI cables...
