Thanks for this one. Mine stopped working yesterday and a quick Disable > Enable fixed it. I love this forum

    screen rotation problem

I've searched, but none of the options it mentions can be found.
I bought two ASUS Transformer Books for both of my daughters. One I've done the upgrades and one I have not. the one which I have not done the upgrades the screen rotates fine. The one with the upgrades no longer rotates. I've gone to the settings and cannot find a anything that would allow the screen to start rotating again.
Would appreciaate some help. Not sure what next step(s) should be.
    Thanks & Merry Christmas

There has got to be an "auto rotate" option in the settings somewhere. It probably checked on LOCK. Just remove the check mark? Probably in the DISPLAY section somewhere. good luck be aware that you may have to scroll down to see it.

you are right - there is!
god this tablet-pc is full of problems. but so far there's a solution for all of them

    to turn on/off auto rotation:
swipe right edge of screen to toggle settings,
    choose display,
on top of brightness bar is the little icon for rotation...

    android is so much simpler...

    how boned am I?

EDIT: hah nvm it reappeared after opening device manager again and the problem is solved!

I just had the same problem with the screen not rotating. From the settings charm there also no lock icon on the screen nor was there a screen rotation icon above the brightness slider. I use a Bluetooth mouse and do not use the trackpad. However, I just touched the trackpad to move the cursor and when I went back to the settings charm the lock was there. I could then unlock and the screen would rotate again.

I first experienced this issue on Toshiba Portage 8'' on an electronics store while inspecting it. It's fixed after a reboot. A few days ago, I saw the same issue on my Asus T100 and again, reboot fixed the problem. But disable/enable method is much more faster and logical. This method may be auto applied by a script on the desktop.

Windows + O (the letter O, not the number) locks and unlocks the screen orientation. Sometimes it seems to get turned off, and Win + O turns it back on.

Also if you want to keep portrait orientation, even if you turn the tablet to landscape, first turn the tablet to portrait. If it does not auto-rotate, hit win + O. After it has rotated, if you enter win+ O it will stay in portrait mode.(If I am lying down and reading a book, often it portrait mode is more convenient and I don't want it to switch back and forth as I turn the tablet.)

Note that you can use either the keyboard dock or the touch keyboard to do this.
