    Question T100TAM and WIN10 64-bit?

Hey, this is my first post here.

I'm a happy user of T100TAM-DK009H (Atom Z3775, 2GB RAM, 64GB eMMC) running WIN 10 32-bit, but I want to install the 64-bit version. I have installed BIOS 205 and as far as I know this version supports only 32-bit UEFI. On the ASUS Support website, I found drivers for WIN 10 64-bit as well as a BIOS 400 update. I have searched the forum, but couldn't find a clear answer. So my question is, does BIOS 400 has support for UEFI 64-bit and is it possible to change my system to 64-bit?

I don't want to discuss, if 2GB is enough for WIN10 64-bit. I have my motives to give it try .

I'm sorry for any mistakes, but English is not my native language.

    1. Not sure why those drivers are there. I've installed BIOS 400. Don't know if anyone has tried since 400 was released.
    2. No clear answer, anywhere. BIOS is UEFI only, no legacy mode. Most of the threads are older.
    3. Not sure, 64-bit Android (RemixOS) wouldn't complete install as dual-boot, i.e. write to boot loader. I've also tried to get 64-bit WinPE USB drives to boot, they won't. I tried it just now to confirm. 64-bit won't boot, 32-bit does boot.
    4. Why don't you try it & let us know? It will require a clean install, there is no upgrade path. Do an image backup first.

BTW, assume you're not trying to run a virtual machine, which you can run as 64-bit?

Thank You for fast reply. No, I didn't try running VM. It looks like I have to try 64-bit installation myself. I'm a bit busy now, but when I wil have some free time, I will try and let You know if it will work or not.

I don't think it will work on the T100TAM, however, it will work on the T100HA, because it uses Intel® Cherry Trail Quad-Core Z8500 Processor.

we have a trio of T100TAM-DK023PA with 400 bios. They came with 2gb and windows 8 x86. We have been unable to get an x64 uefi boot - be that an x64 W10 rescue, self made UEFI USB x64 or rufus made W10 x6 ISO. x86 boot DVD, USB and rufus ISO work. These trio have (unfortunately) been consigned to the scrap pile now as we have moved our office domain to x64 W10 - print drivers and devices and also WSUS updates are now x64 approved only.

A shame as the architechture is x64 capable but it seems that the BIOS isnt. I have seen that there is a french t100tam that IS x64 boot capable so perhaps flashing that bios will work. If I can find this BIOS then im willing to try as these are going in the bin anyway.

edit: https://www.asus.com/fr/2-in-1-PCs/A...HelpDesk_BIOS/ BIOS for the french version is the same. Oh well.

edit2: As a last ditch attempt we used a "donor" machine to clone our standard sysprepped image onto the T100 using clonezilla (cloned before first boot obviously). This didnt work, the T100 simply didnt boot (it acted as it did with the other x64 boot disk/dvd). Seems x64 on some T100TAM is simply nogo.

I have had similar experience with any 64-bit OS.
The odd thing is, if you go to the link in my signature, you can select Windows 10 64-bit as the OS.
I think there are some European versions of the TAM that do have a 64-bit capable BIOS.
Hopefully, the BIOS version to correct the Spectre threat will be 64-bit capable.

    No response from Asus:

    See post #14 here https://forum.libreelec.tv/thread/66...8138#post48138
Read the other posts too, about changing the guid.

It's kind of @ssbackward that asus would not allow 64 bit uefi, but so be it.

In my testing I've gotten as far as livebooting the librelec flash drive successfully. I need to backup the current OS from the tablet before moving forward.
