Talking T100TAM-BING-DK057B - Recovery partition again - How to delete it ?

    Hello everybody,

I bought a new Asus Transformer series tablet/computer.

    Here is its reference: T100TAM-BING-DK057B

    Here are its main specifications:
    32GB EMMC + 500GB Hard drive
    Windows 8.1 with Bing - 64 bits
    4GB of RAM

I've got the same problem that nearly everybody on this forum has: I've disk space problems on my tablet and I noticed there is a recovery partition of 12GB that I would like to delete! 12GB on 32GB is just... HUGE

I know there is a possibility to move documents location on SD card but so far I would like to avoid this method.

I already tried (according what I read on this forum):

    - Asus Backtracker: I installed it, did the the backup on a USB drive of the recovery partition but the option for deleting the recovery partition never shows up

    - Easeus Partition Master (free): I installed EPM on Windows and then tried to delete the recovery partition. I thought it worked but it was before having a nice bluescreen which indicated a CRITICAL ERROR. After that Windows wasn't able to boot anymore and I had to reinstall my T100TAM through the recovery USB key created on the previous step.

Next step is to reinstall Windows 8.1 64 bits with Bing from a fresh install with a USB key but I have doubt with the activation process, will it work?

Do you have another idea for deleting the recovery partition?

    Thanks in advance!

    DeltaSM

Problem solved by reinstalling Windows 8.1 with Bing 64 bits with a fresh install and installing drivers manually.

I hope it will help other users in the future!

Glad you got it but one thing to correct... the T100 can not use 64bit Windows, so I'm sure you used 32bit.

Good that you got it back working again. However, did you succeed in deleting the recovery partition? Usually when people have trouble deleting that partition the OS is using Wimboot compression. The T100TAF with Windows/Bing has this problem. I'm assuming the T100TAM with Windows/Bing could, too. So go into disk management and see if your C: drive has wimboot in the description.
