Sorry for taking a bit to reply... it's flu-times in Catalunya and the whole family is taking turns at being out of commission...

Anyway - twisting could certainly be a concern - at least if keeping it there as a more permanent solution, but I'm not sure the risk is that great unless you start hooking up a lot of cables to it. I bought the hub more as a temporary solution for transferring photos from SD-card to external drive, backing up my "d-drive" (the internal microsd-card) or copying things to/from thumb drives. In the end this machine is bought as a portable travel/sofa/walkabout solution where I won't need a lot of stuff connected all the time...

We were in Catalunya a couple of years ago; Figueres, Barcelona ... and spent time over the border in Roussillon as well. We loved it.

I hope your household gets over the 'flu quickly.

    Welcome to the forum

Lots have done the former, no-one with any sense would do the latter.

Not yet, but I will... in a not so distant future be upgrading from Win 10 Home to Win 10 Pro. If not for anything else I will do it to regain complete control over this thing with updates...
I know you can change individual connections to "metered" to prevent downloads, and I know that you can schedule - more or less - but you still don't have much control over what actually gets installed (or when).

The other day I pulled my hair over an update that seemed to have been partly installed already when I was asked to reboot to finish it all up. This update somehow messed up my touchpad, taking away my two-finger scroll, reducing pointer speed and making everything very "flimsy". Not until after that reboot, a visit to the device manager and a "forced" search for updated drivers and after that another reboot did I get things to return to normal again.

Fair enough - I get that things happen sometimes, but what I don't like is that some updates that are downloaded and installed actually kicks in right in the middle of what I'm currently doing, forcing me to close down, save and finish whatever I'm doing at the moment in order to reboot and apply the rest of the update process - all this with (possibly - like in the case with the touchpad) reduced functionality.

I sent my unit to service to repair crooked touchpad and disconnection issue (which I believe more of a driver problem, not hardware)

How crooked? My touch pad is also a little crooked but I haven't noticed any performance issues, so it hasn't been bothering me.

Windows tells me it will deploy updates at 3.00am so they cause me no inconvenience. Today it installed one at 9.00am. I fail to understand why Microsoft would say one thing and then do something else, but I guess I can't blame Asus for that.

    Hi,

I have been enjoying the T100HA. I have not installed any software or registered for any of the Asus bloatware (or anything preinstalled). I pretty much am using it to browse the web. Maybe 2 or 3 tabs open (facebook, webmail, some other time killer).

I have found it is very slow to respond at times. I only use it unplugged, typically sitting on my lap browsing.

When I look at the task monitor it is using maybe 2.5gb of ram with plenty free.

I might have a page open & am browsing, flip to the taskmonitor & see it pegged close to 100% - again nothing else is running.

No antivirus, no malware running active (passive scans only with malwarebytes).

Any idea what might be making it so slow?

Are yous using Edge? I find that it uses a lot of ram and cpu, making the laptop near unusable.
