So I re-imaged my T100 with Win8.1 x86 Enterprise, as with any TPM, when you wipe the OS, you can clear the TPM, then re-initialize the TPM and your good to go

Three months have passed and I'm pretty happy with the T100TAM.

I have a question though. The 64 GB MMC card that it's used as it's disk is formatted as GPT. So is the T100TAM's BIOS really UEFI? Or is it BIOS?

My understanding is that it is both. The t100 has a very limited traditional BIOS that can be updated to change system level functions of the device. It does not have very many user facing features. That's where UEFI comes in. Having GPT partitions allows us to have the UEFI system as a more user facing BIOS.

So short summary. GPT systems with UEFI still have a traditional BIOS as well. It just can't do very much.

If it's GPT, it must be UEFI. GPT won't work under BIOS. UEFI actually has to do both. Windows 7 machines were MBR by default, even if the firmware was UEFI capable. Windows 8 (& 8.1) are GPT by default. I just converted 2 of my 7-machines from MBR to GPT.
What?s the Difference Between GPT and MBR When Partitioning a Drive?
    Article says:
Windows can only boot from GPT on UEFI-based computers running 64-bit versions of Windows 8.1, 8, 7, Vista, and corresponding server versions. All versions of Windows 8.1, 8, 7, and Vista can read GPT drives and use them for data ó they just canít boot from them.
This is not entirely true, since the T100 runs 32-bit Windows, but may have a 64-bit UEFI/BIOS.

Have a new t100tam. Is it possible to boot this laptop from a usb cd/dvd? I've tried but unlike a usb memory stick the cd drive is not displayed in the boot menu when I press the esc key at bootup. Any help would be appreciated.
