Reset Windows without logging on, Using MS Account on diff PC.
I bought a second hand T100 on Amazon, was disappointed to find it did not have the free Windows 8 software, so arranged to return to seller and in meantime bought identical model new, with Windows 8 included
However I have set up the model I first bought with my Microsoft account, so when it is switched on my MS password is required. Will the seller be able to circumvent this in preparing it for resale, eg via a factory reset? I see from this forum that it is possible to switch from an MS to a local account, however this would seem to equally involving creating a password that any new buyer would need to know.
Also, I have not yet set up the new model I have bought as a replacement - will there be any problems in setting up a second machine with the same MS account?
Advice appreciated.

Welcome to the forums Cerumol

I have amended your title to reflect the issue properly. You can still reset the Windows, even if you don't have the password, your seller needs to follow the following step by step,
1. From the login screen, click the power icon in the lower right corner of the screen.
2. While holding Shift, click Restart.
3. Click Troubleshoot.
4. Click Reset Your PC.
5. Click Next.
6. The system will reboot and begin Preparing to Reset the PC.
7. At the Reset your PC screen, click Just remove my files.
8. Click Reset.
If you can't do the 1 and 2, just restart and keep pressing F9 on boot, and enter Windows Recovery and follow 3 from there. If you think it's too much and you know the seller, simply visit him and sign in and remove your account, or create any local account, give it Admin Rights and remove yours from logging into that local admin. If hes very far, he has to follow the options above, no other choice, If you delete your account from following the below first, your MS Account on the first machine is basically useless, either way the Seller needs to reset regardless
.
To answer your second question, yes there's no problem in you using your account on as many Microsoft devices as you like, to remove the old PC from your new PC, follow the simple steps from the link below.
