BIOS 313 has kinda helped by battery usage a little, about 13% an hour now from a scary 40% an hour before the update. But my startup is a little slower than before. I used to be able to open folders, or google chrome as soon as my laptop turned on. Now it takes a while to load and open.

Still a great trade off with the battery, but just wondering what the problem might be. Performance is still great, just the startup is slow.

    EDIT*
I'm wondering if it has to do with high CPU usage as seen on the task manager. My CPU usage tends to jump pretty high when doing simple tasks like browsing facebook. Is it possible 100% is being used on startup causing slower start up? cpu usage.jpg

I know there will be a certain few users that will tell you to stop using chrome...I can't justify that. Check your extensions. I don't max out on CPU while using it, but I do have a strange issue where if I press alt+D to get to the address bar, chrome will crash at random. From the chrome issue tracker it seems its related to ASUS touchpad drivers. Not gonna get me to switch though!

Interesting...since I use Chrome on the T100TA here almost exclusively, and simply don't see the anomalies that a few others have reported.

I suspect you are spot on in terms of extensions and add-ins that might be resulting in something less than the stellar experience seen here using Chrome. All drivers here are current and are maintained regularly to keep them current. Again...no problems here with Chrome.

you're using latest touchpad drivers? those seem to have the crash effect when pressing Alt+D or CTRL+W. personally for me its Alt+d to access the address bar. other than this, no issues with chrome. check this and have a read.

I noticed something interesting. I have a T100TA, which was on Bios 307. I was only able to use the new MS Office universal apps in read-only mode. Upon updating to Bios 313, I am now able to use them to create documents. This is due to Microsoft requirements that these new apps are only free on devices 10.1" and smaller. On larger devices you need an Office 365 subscription.

    Hi all,

After reading this thread, I am a bit confused . I have a newer model with Z3775 cpu, but with Bios version 307 . So, mine is TA or TAS ?

Because someone said Z3775 should be TAS and only has Bios 207, 213 .

That is confusing. Perhaps a chat with ASUS would clarify.
