So I updated to 313 manualy because ASUS Live didn't tell me about it, not even about 307, I had 304.

Everything seems to be ok, but I still don't get it why ASUS live didn't tell me, now it's on instal automatically. I think WIndows updates are ok, it says that is up to date.

    Anybody knows?

    Thank you

My motto is, don't leave any updates on auto install.

See this thread from long ago... PLEASE READ Asus Live Update: Delayed driver and BIOS updates

No one seems to know why this is.

My theory is that the way the programmers of Asus Live Update set it up to work is, it may have the intelligence to only take a device to a "safe and reasonably stable level" (as deemed by Asus?). When updates are applied to the BIOS and drivers, there is some slight chance of breaking something during that update, so again, in Asus' wisdom, if it's deemed unnecessary, why take the chance.

Generally speaking, if the user is somewhat technical and can follow directions, none of these updates, except perhaps the BIOS (a tiny tiny bit) will result in totally breaking the device.

To muddy the waters, there are many folks who've actually removed Asus Live Update from their system thinking it never did anything, so why bother since they can manually update from the Asus files online.

Bottom line, keeping any device up to date (and it's not just Asus) is kind of a mess. Asus_USA are you listening?

I don't have anything set to auto update... I have them all set to "not download and notify"... that way I chose what, when and where... and since some updates do require a restart and untended updates can result in unintended restarts... which can catch a user off guard and then they could do something wrong such as wondering why the device appears to be off and then pushing the power button to turn it on... when in fact, you just powered it off during an update... that could result in really bad news.

    Hi all,

I'm trying to update the bios to my T100TA and the ASUSTek Easy Flash Utility is telling me that the BIOS I obtained is incorrect for my system, but I downloaded it from the T100TA support site. The BIOS file I am trying to install is T100TASAS.213. Any ideas as to what the problem may be? The reason or the reinstall is that my system crashed after trying out Windows 10 and now a number of things won't work (webcam, FN commands, auto screen reorientation in tablet mode, volume rocker, etc). Any help you kind folks could provide would be much appreciated!

DON'T use Easyflash... ONLY use Winflash. Easyflash can brick your T100.

If your model is definitely the T100TA, the proper BIOS is 313.

Much appreciated! Bricking my machine would have ruined my day. Unfortunately, the Winflash refuses to install. It says that I don't have the roper permissions. I tried to run it as an administrator without any luck. Recommendations?

For me it was the latter, the performance jumped-up way better with the BIOS 313 upgrade, as compared to when I got the tablet long back IIRC which was very, very slow when I got the tablet on BIOS 307.
