    Hello guys,

Been a lurker for a long time, and I just joined the forums to write a few bit of my new T100TA and the battery problem in a bit detail so for others to see and maybe help them too, I just got my T100TA this last thursday and I completely loved it from the very start, this is my third 4th Asus Laptop including Tablets/hybrids. The previous ones I have are,

1- Asus ROG JZ750 - Best Purchase I ever did
2- Asus Infinity Pad TF700 - Not so happy about the performance its not so good except the great screen
    3- Asus Zenbook UX31A - Amazing Ultrabook
    4- Asus T100TA - Best Purchase I ever did

Well seeing the above, I came and got my eyes on the T100TA since I didn't had much a great joy with my Android Variant of the infinity Pad, I wasn't expecting much but boy I was surprised to the fluidity and the superb usability of this product. Applying a tons of updates and getting rid of the pre-installed Office which came with it, and installing my licensed Office Pro 2013 Plus was just amazing on this. I haven't experienced such a small and portable PROPERLY working full Windows 8.1 OS before. And with this price and battery and all, I was just very happy with the product. Well after going through the updates and what-not, I came across a problem just in my third day of extensive use, the battery just won't charge anymore it used to the first two days without a dent or problem but it won't now, it has the same charge since the previous day and down to 52% and dropping but won't charge even plugged in to the AC, just says (Plugged In, not charging) tried different PC, ports, USB's chargers, to no avail. Until I searched for the Asus Drivers and Updates page which I normally did with my other Asus Products to update any drivers etc, then the Bios 313 came to me, as I updated everything else from the page which needed to be updated except that, and wen't with my first bios 313 update on this brand new product with my fingers crossed, turns out when the update to bios finished the laptop shutdown itself and I just had to power it back on, I came across the 20% and that should be plugged in while doing it so warning when it was 52%, went it went at 47% down It didn't warn me like before, and after updating the bios to 313 of the product the charge times seems much much faster, and FINALLY the device is charging properly now, well to me, the bios 313 just fixed the problem of the battery for me, which made me worried today and as I write to you, as I had thought of replacing or sending it back since its just brand new.

But yes, I do think before you go to the last bit like I was, try the BIOS 313 which in my case worked like a charm and fixed my annoying battery problem for this great laptop hybrid which I faced. I don't have that Charging LED issue like the above posted though

    Hi everyone,
I have some trouble with the charging of my T100TAS. The problem is that if i use the machine while charging, the battery (not very) slowly drains instead of charging. I've tried some "hardware" solution (like changing USB charger, cable, etc.) but with no luck and seems to me that for my type of machine there aren't BIOS or other software updates that can fix the problem. My question is: there are something more that i can try, or the problem don't have a solution? Many tanks, and sorry for my English...

It's well documented that the stock T100 charger is just too weak to provide enough current to charge the battery while the T100 is in use. Your options are don't use it while charging or purchase an after market charger that provides more current. I've had good luck with this charger, Amazon.com: Pwr+ 6.5 Ft Fastest 3.5A Charger AC Adapter for Asus Transformer Tablet Book T100, T100TAM; Transformer Pad MG10, MG103C, TF0310C; T100TA-B1-GR, T100TA-C1-GR; T100TAM-C1-GM, T100TAM-H1-GM, T100TAM-H2-GM; MG103C-A1-GR, TF0310C-A1-BK 10.1

Many thanks for the kind reply.
Now I only have to find a 3,5A USB charger with EURO plug... Any suggestion?

You can use a Euro-Plug from the below link for the above charger which Rick mentioned ,

    Not really.

10 watts of charging power, even considering charge inefficiencies and cable losses, that is still roughly 8w of power in the end. T100 in light use should draw 3-3.5w of power and under heavy use around 6w of power.

I've used my 2A charger when I was HAMMERING the T100 under very heavy load and it still managed to charge a bit. Granted I think it eeked about 2-3% charge over 2hrs of heavy use, but when I am using it for lighter tasks like watching movies and browsing the web it'll charge 12-15% per hour using the supplied 2A charger.

If it won't charge at all, it is a bum charger or cable issue.

I'm basing my opinion on 16 months of personal experience (along with other dissatisfied users on these forums suffering the same) between using my stock charger&cable vs my aforementioned Pwr+ charger.

I can't dispute the raw math but there is so much variability in user settings, experiences and power draw, I think it's smart to get a charger that will "always do the job" rather than complaining about "why won't my tablet charge while I'm using it".

    Of course YMMV.

For BIOS? Go to asus.com > support > enter your model#, etc. > download > extract > run Winflash on your T100 > browse to extracted file.
