I have a question on the z3775 turbo boost frequency. My t110 w/z3775 doesn't hit the 2.39ghz turboboost during intensive apps like prime95. I can't say I've even seen the frequency go above 2.2ghz, I find this weird because on the few z3740 tablets I tried they would all hit the advertised 1.86ghz threshold and maintain it. Its not a heating issue as my z3775 tablet running ~10c cooler then my old z3740 tablet. I'm also using the newest version of cpuz as its the only app that can read all the core frequencys at the same time.

I just ordered the new T100 with the Z3775. I'm curious if it will have a noticeable performance improvement over the Z3740? The new T100 doesn't have the option to get the 500GB keyboard and that could be very useful for storage. In your opinion, which would be a better buy, the storage, or newer processor?

What does anything else report? Like task manager itself? What about trying HWiNFO? HWiNFO 32 works perfectly on my z3740 based T100. Of course that doesn't mean it'll like the z3775 in the refresh, but give it a whirl.

Newer processor. Frankly, it isn't all that much more cumbersome to pack a 2.5" USB3 HDD in a tablet bag to bring with you instead of having one in the dock. The downsides to in the dock is that ANYTIME you have it docked, it uses more power. It also makes the dock heavier and thicker. So for the times you don't actually need the extra 500GB of storage with you, you are paying a penalty. With the micro SD card slot, you can have up to 128GB of extra storage that way.

I get by fine with the 64+32GB setup I have with my T100 99% of the time. On rare occasions I'll toss my 500GB USB3 drive in my tablet back to schlep with me. Not often I need to do that though.

I used task manager and HWiNFO 32 (and the beta version) they all report the cpu multiplier maxing at x17 and with the bus running at 133.3 that gives me 2.266ghz. HWiNFO even says the max turboboost for the z3775 is x18 but mine never seems to hit it.

I just got the new t100 with z3775 to replace the one I had with z3740. The display is reporting 1366x768 as recommended resolution. I think it is supposed to be 1368x768. This makes the display not as crisp. Is there a fix? I already tried updating/reinstalling drivers and so on. Any help is appreciated.

Ok, I got the display issue straightened out. I had installed the older driver so reinstalling the latest SOC package fixed the blurry display. The resolution of the z3775 edition is 1366x768.

    A couple other differences.
    1. There's no longer a 7GB USB recovery drive. It's partitioned on the 32GB drive.
    2. Manufacturer of the 32 GB drive is different. z3740 = sandisk, z3775 = Hynix
    3. The battery is reported as 35.7k mWh by Battery Bar for z3775, z3740 reported as 31k

If another t100 z3775 owner could test to see if their tablet can run at the max x18 multiplier (2.39ghz) on all 4 cores that would be awesome. I would find it weird that the z3740 can max turbo on all cores but the z3775 can't.

Also do the bios versions work across all t100 tablets?

I can't test the former, but to my understanding, yes on the later.

Unless yours is a fluke, the only things I can guess are needing a new SoC driver update or possible a BIOS update to allow the maximum turbo speed. Unless there is a bug or intentional cap at x17, there should be no reason why it shouldn't hit x18, at least occasionally or for short periods of time. Of course old/bad drivers or BIOS problem is certainly a possibility.

What BIOS did yours ship with out of curiosity?
