Hi sorry if this has already been said but I've searched and ended up overwhelming myself with too many tabs open lol...

I'm in the process of updating my BIOS to 313 from 307 and it appeared to be going well until now I just have a black screen nothing's happening, is this normal and should I just wait? Or what?

[EDIT] Ahh, I was brave and pressed power for a while and it came back to life. Phew... I had a horrible feeling I'd bricked it and I'd not even had any real reason to want to update it lol..! Now running 313

If done properly, aka using WinFlash, you'll see lines of info, percentages and progress bars during the update culminating with a message similar to "BIOS update completed..." and the device will then power off. It then of course needs to be turned on.

    Glad you got it.

Sorry if this has been answered before, but I've done some looking through this thread and I haven't found my answer...

I'm getting a 64GB T100TA tomorrow for Christmas and I was planning on instantly upgrading to Windows 10. However, I'm worried that I may want to revert back to Windows 8 at some point, in case I run into any issues with 10.

If the very first thing I do is a Windows Backup as described by this article:

Using Windows 8?s ?hidden? backup to clone and recover your whole PC | Ars Technica

Will it give me essentially a full backup of the drive that comes with the tablet? OS, recovery partition and everything? Or will it just backup Windows 8 itself?

I guess my basic question is, what's the best way to make a full system backup that doesn't involve extra paid software.

    Thanks!

Clearly you are going to need a little clearer direction.

Read this section...T100 (all variants, including Chi) - Windows 10
For a full backup, use macrium reflect & you needn't worry about the recovery partition.
Also read the T100 FAQs section linked in my signature.
