recording sound from streaming sites (Audacity, WASAPI setting, as solution)

The only input device offered for recording on the T100 is the microphone input (in Control Panel> Sounds).

Audacity software (free download: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ )
offers a way of recording what you hear. See its help wiki for more details of settings (basically, changing device to WASAPI)
See Mixer Toolbar Issues - Audacity Wiki and scroll down to

"HELP WITH RECORDING COMPUTER PLAYBACK OR STREAMING AUDIO
On Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, current Audacity can record computer playback even on sound devices lacking that ability. To use that feature, choose "Windows WASAPI" host in Device Toolbar, then the output device you want to record from, then the "loopback" input for that device. This "loopback" device does not need to be enabled in the Windows "Sound" control panel. For details, see Recording Computer Playback on Windows ."

To export as MP3 you'll also need another free plugin (LAME) - see the Audacity downloads.

You might also be able to use "virtual audio cable", that way if you use other software, you won't have to use Audacity. Virtual Cable seems to install a sound card driver, which can then be selected as your recording device.

Whatever happened to "Record what you hear" in Windows?

Download Virtual Audio Cable from Here:
Download Virtual Audio Cable version 4.12

Once the driver is installed, make sure it is shown:

    Then enable it:

if you just want to record the stream for personal use later, use a wonderful app like Jdownloader 1/2 and load the stream in your browser, copy the URL and jdownloader captures the link and allows you to save the mp3. it also works for any video site and can capture the audio directly from a video usually.

There's a free youtube downloader app in the store.... It downloads the video, and also extracts the audio as mp3.

seriously if youve never tried jdownloader give it a shot, it works on *any* site that is streaming or hosts download links, and works amazingly. it even waits for the download site's time limit and will do captchas on most sites. no other app compares to it, and its free.
