Live updater generally lags several days to a couple of weeks behind what they have up on their website. You can always just go to the Asus support website if you want to grab updates/new BIOS much faster.

I loaded up 227 and no issues.

Hi, I'm new here and recently purchased a refurb t100 (kind of wish I hadn't)

I've had the machine for a couple of days and it's been a complete nightmare. Anyway, to cut a long and oft angst filled story short, I have updated the bios (didn't even know what a bios was until two days ago) to 226. My question is this; having done so should I now update windows as I'm led to believe that this could have been the reason for all of my problems thus far? I have auto updates switched off now

I have another question which goes like this.. should a machine need this many bios updates? I've owned a variety of devices running a variety of OS in my time but I've never known anything like this. My t100 has come close to being reformatted with a large hammer

So are asus admitting that their own live update does not work?

You should probably perform a factory reset or restore, then allow Windows to do all its updates.

You may have an early unit, given that it is a refurb. Some of those had terrible issues. In many cases, those issues were completely resolved with the combination of a BIOS update and a factory restore. You've done the first part, the BIOS update. If files or libraries have been corrupted, a factory restore will fix it completely. A restore will wipe everything you've installed, but since it's a new machine (for you) this shouldn't be much of a problem.

After a factory restore, allow the Windows updates and you should have a perfectly running machine.
