Increase virtual memory + FPS for gaming

So I have been playing torchlight 2, high settings and all, then I got the virtual memory warning. Lowered the settings and it runs ok.

How do you increase virtual memory? I don't know what the custom page Initial size MAX values are.
If there are any other quick fixes to speed up games\ programs, that would nice to know too. Appreciate any help.

Off topic, has anyone played Diablo III or Out of exile?

    Cheers ladies

I'm not aware you can increase virtual memory since half of the equation behind it is physical RAM if I remember correctly. You can shut down every application possible to free up some memory and if you have the Steam window open close it so it stays in the system tray (I want to say that frees up 200 megabytes of your ~1 gigabyte free RAM) but even still you'll probably have a better time with Torchlight 2 in lower settings anyway. In the later areas there are far too many monsters for the system to handle the game at higher presets and I even get lag spikes when using certain skills or am being overwhelmed on the low settings.

Most people claim that Diablo III is playable at low settings and if you are talking about Path of Exile most people claim the same thing.

You can set virtual memory to any abritary size you want.

Its slow though. You sure you didn't get a general memory warning? I've never seen a virtual memory warning.

The T100 in default configuration has the page file set to be a dynamic size. Not sure what the cap is, but I think it'll size it up to 2GB (plus the 2GB of RAM should be plenty for most resonable things). You can go under Control panel->System-Advanced system settings-Performance and one of the options is changing the page file size. Just set it to a larger custom size, like 3GB or something.

Running out of page file and increasing the size isn't going to do much to speed things up, page file hits are SLOW already, so if you are out of RAM and hitting the page file for stuff you are already talking very slow.
