Thanks for the sticky on Asus Live Update azazel1024... good info.
I do believe I've observed an interesting thing about how Asus Live Update works. I seem to have noticed a pattern that it'll only let you manually run a check for updates when you have the T100 plugged into power?
Anybody else confirm this? Might explain why many posters here don't think Asus Live Update actually does anything. Try plugging into power and run Asus Live Update and see what happens.
---------------------
Never mind... I validated this myself. It seems doing a manual check you need to tap "Check Update Immediately" twice to get it to update the last checked date/time. It's doesn't require power to be plugged in as I suspected.

No. My T100 runs live update in pure tablet mode. But the program takes a long time to open.
try giving it a minute or two.

If you haven't used it, viper4windows applies post audio tweaks, this can increase volume considerably also other tweaks like bass and clarity improvements, even virtual surround sound (needs headphones im guessing). I was pretty disappointed with the sound volume/ clarity of the t100 (ive own 3 other Asus transformers and this was the weakest) but its actually very good with viper4windows.
Heres the link:

EDIT: Dont think i put enough emphasis on that it makes a night and day difference to sound, the speakers are actually great, maybe MS/ Asus done something wrong with the sound driver.
Tried the app and I have no change in my audio. For some reason it doesn't let me install the x64 version either so im using the x84? Same for you? I have it running as admin but no difference?

Its because you have 32-bit windows running, so an AMD64 version wouldn't work. x86 applications only.

I have a question regarding the video settings. How can I disable anti-aliasing? When I open Intel HD Graphics settings I can not see an option about that. The problem is that some older games are not running properly (e.g. Empire Earth, Darkest Hour) due to the anti-aliasing. Any help would be appreciated!

I am not aware of any global Intel GPU anti-aliasing setting. Its on a per game basis, unlike AMD/Nvidia drivers where you can set the drivers to default AA on, even if the game doesn't natively support it.
Or at least to the best of my knowledge that is the case.

Why is there a defrag task in Task Scheduler? I thought defragging this kind of memory is as bad an idea as attempting to defrag an SSD. Am I mistaken about this? I've disabled it anyway, so thanks for the tip.

Yes, you should not defrag an SSD, it just adds extra wear and won't add any extra speed. Trim is used for SSD.
According to Event Viewer mine Defrags my Data1 (E: ) harddrive (the 500GB harddrive in the keyboard) and Trims the OS (C: ) SSD drive. Event Viewer also says it has done a Defragmentation of C drive at the exact same time but I think it means Windows was going to but would have recognized that it was not a harddrive and stopped the operation. See the Command O below
In the Task Schedule you will see the Command is:
defrag.exe -c -h -o -$
C Perform the operation on all volumes
H Run the operation at normal priority (default is low)
O Perform the proper optimization for each media type
$ I don't know what this means

Win 8 doesn't defrag an SSD, but sends a set of TRIM commands to the SSD. What the SSD does with them is entirely up to it! Leaving optimisation ON won't do any harm.
