    External screen connection issues

    Hello

Globally I love my Asus Book, I think it's a great value for money.
The only problems I'm facing concern the connection to an external screen, through the mini hmdi slot. I use it a lot connected either to my 24 inch monitor at home or to video projectors:
    - sometimes through my VGA adapter it does not work on an projector, saying someting like wrong frequency. Last time I had the issue I tried with a regular PC and it worked perfectly... Any idea what it could be (video card or my HDMI VGA adapter)?
    - the actual mini hdmi slot does not feel very tight. Often when I plug my mini hdmi to hdmi adapter to connect it to my monitor, it does not work, and it seems that I need to have a very specific angle in the connector for it to work... Once again is this my connector or do you have similar issues?
    - last but not least: as the screen resolution is HD and not full HD, how can I have duplicate images (one on the screen on the Asus, one on an external projector) with two different resolutions. I don't see the option in the screen resolution screen although I have seen this with other pcs. Is it software or hardware issue (in other words can I achieve this with the Asus book).

    Thanks

Anyone having problem with the mini MDMI connector? Mine is completely loose, and is almost impossible to use now. I am considering retruning the device for this reason

    Thanks

No issues here with fit. Do you have a triangular shaped adaptor? I find that those put a lot of force on the port which might loosen it, so I switched to a longer cable type adaptor.

    This one is bad:

HDMI® Micro Connector Male to HDMI® Connector Female Port Saver Adapter - Monoprice.com

    This one is good:

    6inch 34AWG High Speed HDMI® Cable With Ethernet - HDMI® Micro Connector male to HDMI® Connector female - Black - Monoprice.com

Been using my T100 with external HDMI screen most days for over 7 weeks now and the port on the T100 is fine and I have had no problems but I have used 1 piece micro HDMI > HDMI lead rather than an adapter as I didn't think there was space for one of those and charging cable at the same time.

it has been hit & miss for me.
once i tried hdmi to vga adaptor & connected to LCD TV its fine.
once i tried direct hdmi connector to a hotel LCD TV, there's no signal.
also i tried direct hdmi connector to another LCD TV, its also fine.
and yesterday i tried hdmi to vga adaptor connected to vga projector, there's no signal.

i donno whether its related to the display settings or the external device.

    hello

I have trie both: the triangular adaptor and the one with a cable. The triangluer indeed blocks the power connector, and also puts a lot of strain on the connector itself i agree.
I guess if I'm the only having fitting issues it must be my device which is falty then, but I'm reluctant to sent it back to Asus as I don't know how long it will take and I guess I will probably lose my data
