Play AVCHD MTS video smoothly: SOLVED

    Hi,

I have collection of HD home videos (AVCHD / MTS format) and I had proplem playing them on my Asus T100 smoothly. The video was jerky and audio was out of sync.

    Finally I found solution:
Installed K-Lite Codec Pack (Mega version), during installation it was asked to choose DirectShow decoding mode. Default was "Software decoding" - it was no good. Instead choose the next decoding option from drop down list - it was "Hardware ... decoding". With that my AVCHD video is playing smoothly and without audio sync issues (as far as I can tell). Hope it helps.

I prefer SMPlayer. It's a front end GUI for MPlayer. Codecs are all included.

Since Topic is "AVCHD MTS smooth play" please share your experience with CCCP and SMPlayer regarding playback of AVCHD MTS videos on T100. Does it work smoothly and if so, what settings did you used for that.

sure. i used smplayer to stream a 1080p m2ts of die hard and had some small audio/video sync issues, almost like it was a dub type of scenario.

i then used media player classic with the aforementioned cccp and there were no audio/video sync issues.

    Thanks for info.
I'm not sure about m2ts, but as far as I know AVCHD MTS (from HD camcoders) are especially demanding to decode.
